The city of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, enjoys a unique geographic location in the middle of Guizhou province, neighboring Yunnan province to the west, Sichuan province to the north, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to the south and Hunan province to the east. Guiyang is an important hub of traffic and communication in the southwestern region of the country, as well as a comprehensive industrial base and a national scenic area.
The signing ceremony for the Weixin super-intelligent integrated computing power center project – a key project in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area's supercomputer infrastructure layout – took place in the Gui'an Free Trade Zone on Feb 22.
In 2023, the GDP of Gui'an New Area increased by 24.1 percent compared to the previous year, making it the fastest-growing national-level new area in the country.
According to the "2023 innovation capacity evaluation report of national innovative cities" recently released by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, Guiyang's innovation capacity index is 59.64, an increase of 0.9 compared to the previous year.
