After being suspended last year due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 China International Big Data Industry Expo will be held in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 26-29.
Since 2020, Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province has taken big data industry development as one of its priorities. The industry achieved rapid growth last year.
Three big data enterprises at Guiyang HIDZ were recently selected as top-level pilot units for their data management capabilities, according to a list issued by the China Information Technology Industry Federation (CITIF).
The total scale of the big data industry in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province reached 42.3 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent, according to the big data office of Guian New Area on April 13.
The Tenth Guiyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China held its fifth plenary session, at which time it was decided that Guiyang is to do all possible to promote high-quality opening-up, boost the real economy, and accelerate high-quality economic development.
