The peak season for summer tourism has arrived in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province. Around May 19, known as "China Tourism Day," a large number of tourists came to the city.

On May 18 and 19, the number of passenger arrivals and departures at Guiyangbei Railway Station reached nearly 300,000.

The high-speed railway economic belt service center of Guanshanhu district has strengthened coordination, allocated transportation capacity, and is providing emergency support to ensure that passengers can enter and exit the railway station quickly and smoothly, achieving its goal of ensuring that passengers can leave the railway station within 15 minutes during off-peak hours and 30 minutes during peak hours.

Currently, there are six transportation capacity guarantee units in Guiyangbei Railway Station area – Guiyangbei Railway Station, Guanshanhu bureau of transportation, Guiyang Public Transport Co, Guiyang Urban Rail Transit Operation Co, Jinyang Bus Terminal, and Guiyang Tourist Distribution Center.

The service center has taken the lead in establishing a transportation capacity guarantee meeting system, and regularly organizes seminars on transportation capacity guarantee work for the six member units.

At the seminars, the achievements of previous efforts are summarized, existing problems and shortcomings are analyzed, and measures are developed for the future work based on passenger flow and weather conditions, so as to further improve the emergency support plans.

In addition, the service center has led the establishment of a transportation capacity guarantee working group. Guiyangbei Railway Station is responsible for releasing passenger flow data in different time periods daily.

Various transportation capacity guarantee units promptly allocate buses, taxis, ride-hailing cars, and other means of transportation for the transfer of passengers arriving at the railway station based on the data of passenger arrivals in different time periods.

Currently, during off-peak periods, Guiyangbei Railway Station sees an average of about 120,000 arrivals and departures per day, with about 804 bus trips and 6,500 ride-hailing and taxi trips. During off-peak hours, the waiting time for public transportation is less than 15 minutes.

The service center has also formulated a comprehensive support emergency plan for Guiyangbei Railway Station. Based on instantaneous passenger flow upon arrival or departure, an emergency mechanism for passenger evacuation has been established.

This plan clarifies the number of on-site management personnel, the use of emergency public transportation, the emergency dispatching of taxis, and the coordination of catering and accommodation for each response level.

During this year's May Day holiday (April 30 to May 5), the total number of arrivals and departures in Guiyangbei Railway Station area reached 1.38 million, an increase of 5.49 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

During this period, the second-level public transportation guarantee response was activated four times, the third-level response once, and the sixth-level response once. The waiting time for public transportation during peak hours was less than 30 minutes.
