In recent years, Guiyang has focused on blending environmental conservation with urban development in the Nanming River basin. Through a series of protective regulations and ecological compensation measures, the city has established a long-term monitoring system that benefits both the environment and residents' well-being.

Today, the banks of Nanming River boast clear waters and blue skies, with schools of fish swimming through the river. The appearance of the black swan, an ecological indicator species, serves as a powerful symbol of the significant improvements in Guiyang's environment.
