Established in June 2014, Gaopo Yunding Ski Resort in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, began offering ski activities in early 2015.
The resort features two 260-meter beginner slopes, two 300-meter intermediate slopes, five snow tubing lanes, and a 3,600-square-meter snow play area accommodating up to 200 people.
In addition, the resort boasts a 45-mu (3 hectares) reservoir, three large parking lots with space for 600 cars, a 3,500-sq-m service center with a capacity of 1,000 people, and a restaurant with a capacity of 400 diners.
The resort ensures optimal snow conditions by using eight Swiss ARECO snow guns, four large snow-making machines producing 400 cubic meters of snow daily, and an imported snow grooming machine. Two conveyor belts, stretching a total of 420 meters, help transport visitors.
In September 2015, the resort expanded its offerings with a 180-meter dry ski slope (40 meters wide), a 180-meter snow tubing slope (5 meters wide), and a 130-meter conveyor belt for easy access to the slopes.
