Geological Museum of Guizhou celebrates tradition of Lantern Festival

The Geological Museum of Guizhou in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was filled with a festive atmosphere for "Exploring the Secrets of the Geological Museum of Guizhou," a unique Lantern Festival event.

The event attracted numerous citizens who embarked on a fun journey to find rice dumpling puzzle pieces.

Participants received a treasure map and activity stickers to search for puzzle pieces scattered throughout the museum. These pieces were hidden in three sections: "dragons traveling around the world", "cradle of animals", and "bountiful Guizhou."

Enthusiasm ran high as participants visited each location, solving riddles and collecting pieces step by step to complete the entire puzzle. Those who finished the puzzle exchanged it for a large "rice dumpling" representing unity, which they then placed into the "bowl of happiness". They then received a transparent lantern commemorating the Year of the Snake.

The event also featured the "mountain and lake book collection" and a "mobile book stall" activity. The Guanshanhu District Library selected books on ecological features, dinosaur science, and traditional festival culture for display. It provided free library card registration and book borrowing services, promoting the sharing of reading resources.

Those who did not participate in the "Exploring the Secrets of the Geological Museum of Guizhou" event could also read, borrow, or exchange old books and receive a precious cultural stamp card from the Geological Museum of Guizhou.

The event aimed to promote traditional Chinese culture and encourage reading among the public. The event attracted over 3,000 people to the museum for participation and visits.
