In Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, there is a massive building with a total construction area of over 10,000 square meters. The red curved facade undulates in a north-south direction, resembling the shape of a giant ribbon.

It is called Hongpiaodai (red ribbon), the country's first immersive digital technology experience center themed around the Long March, and also a landmark in the key construction area of the Long March National Cultural Park in Guizhou.

On Sept 27, international journalists and content creators participating in the 2024 China Storyteller Partnerships visited Hongpiaodai to experience the innovative integration of technology and red culture, exploring how digital technology supports red tourism.

The architectural design of Hongpiaodai is themed around the Long March route of the First Front Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, incorporating the undulating terrain of Guizhou to create its ribbon-like structure.

The color of the building's exterior features a contrasting design inspired by Guizhou's Chishui Danxia scenic area, symbolizing the arduous journey and revolutionary spirit of the Long March.

Hongpiaodai offers the immersive digital performance "Red Ribbon: The Great Journey" and the flying performance "Red Ribbon: Fly Over Guizhou".

The "Red Ribbon: The Great Journey" uses technologies such as AI virtual interaction, holographic imaging, multidimensional mechanical motion, virtual reality, and three-dimensional sound fields to recreate the panoramic journey of the Long March.

The "Red Ribbon: Fly Over Guizhou" features Guizhou's first cinema-grade full 8K giant LED dome flying theater, allowing viewers to feel as if they are flying over the beautiful landscapes of Guizhou.

Since its trial operation began on Oct 22 last year, Hongpiaodai has become a new landmark for the deep integration of Guizhou's red culture, tourism and technology, attracting a large number of curious visitors.
