Guiyang launches culture and tourism products for avoiding summer heat

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, launched 2024 "Cool Guiyang" culture and tourism products for avoiding the summer heat at the Guiyang International Fashion Release Center on June 21.

In summer, Guiyang will welcome visitors from all over the country with over 100 new activities and about 1,000 events, allowing them to experience the unique charm of cool Guiyang.

In recent years, Guiyang has accelerated the development of its "cool economy", becoming the preferred summer destination for tourism and long-term stays. Statistics show that over 100,000 people from Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and other places choose to spend their summer in Guiyang each year.

In addition to roadside concerts held at Zhucheng Square every Saturday in summer, roadside concerts will also be held intermittently at locations like Wenchang Pavilion, Jiaxiu Pavilion, Qingyun Market, Huaxi Shizi Street, Quanhu Park, and Yuelianghu Park.

Cool Guiyang, a journey of sports

Visitors can experience various major sporting events, including the 2024 China Paddle Boarding Open, the 2024 World Youth Rock Climbing Championship, the 2024 Guizhou Ancient Village Running Race (Qingyan Ancient Town), the fifth Guizhou Martial Arts Elite Competition, and the third National Children's Weiqi Open Tournament. The "Soaring Guizhou" Paragliding Sub-tournament will also be held, among other national and provincial-level sporting events.

Tourists can immerse themselves in Yangming Culture at China Yangming Cultural Park, Longgang Academy, and Yangming Academy, experience traditional culture at Confucius Academy, and comprehend those momentous years at the Long March Digital Technology Art Museum and Xifeng Concentration Camp.
