The "2024 National County Tourism Development Research Report", and the lists of "2024 China's top 100 counties in comprehensive tourism strength" and "2024 China's top 100 counties in tourism development potential" were recently announced in Beijing.
The lists reveal that Guiyang's Kaiyang county, Qingzhen county-level city, and Xiuwen county are among the "2024 China's top 100 counties in comprehensive tourism strength". This marks the sixth consecutive year that the three areas have been included.
The "2024 China's top 100 counties in comprehensive tourism strength" includes areas from 18 provinces. In Guizhou, Kaili county-level city, Xingyi county-level city, Kaiyang county, Qingzhen county-level city, Xiuwen county, Renhuai county-level city, Panzhou county-level city, and Libo county were listed, ranking 41st, 48th, 52nd, 60th, 61st, 71st, 73rd, and 82nd respectively.
The report shows that in 2023, the average total tourism revenue of 1,866 counties nationwide was 4.3 billion yuan, with an average of 5.08 million visits received, marking a year-on-year increase of 41.19 percent and 35.18 percent, respectively.
Kaiyang boasts well-known tourist destinations such as Nanjiang Grand Canyon, Houer Sinkhole, Shili Hualang scenic area, and Baimayu Hot Spring, as well as unique accommodations like Xingyue Tianyuan and Yunshan Chahai.
Qingzhen, on the other hand, features large-scale scenic areas like Siji Guizhou, Xiangchou Guizhou, and Shiguang Guizhou. The tourism industry in villages like Dachong, Youer, and Shanshu has matured, while Shilong Cave – known as the best limestone cave in Guizhou – and the camping site by the Yachi River are also highlights.
Xiuwen, meanwhile, is home to popular destinations such as China Yangming Culture Park, Guizhou Wildlife Park, and Qiangui Liuguang Hot Spring. Drifting on the Taoyuan River is popular among tourists in summer, while attractions like Damu Village, Scotland Ranch, and Tiansheng Bridge also enjoy high popularity.
