As of June 17, international cargo flights from Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to Kolkata and Delhi in India had operated 100 flights this year, transporting nearly 1,000 metric tons of goods.
The import cargo value for these two international cargo routes amounted to $1.46 million, mainly consisting of green crabs. Export cargo stood at $44.73 million, primarily consisting of medical components, hardware parts, mechanical parts, and electronic components.
The two routes opened on Dec 13, 2023 and operate three times a week.
To ensure the stable operation of the routes, Guizhou Civil Aviation Group and Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone have enhanced hardware facilities, optimized business processes, and improved service quality and efficiency.
By reducing customs clearance time, increasing loading efficiency, and ensuring that each flight departs on time and returns fully loaded, they are providing efficient and reliable service guarantees for Guizhou's air link to the world. This also broadens international logistics channels for Guizhou enterprises, helping more Guizhou-made products go global.
"The successful operation of the two routes has brought broader market space and development opportunities to enterprises in Guizhou and even the southwestern region, demonstrating the complementary nature and development potential of trade between Guizhou and South Asian countries," said an employee of Guizhou Airport Logistics Industry Development Co.
Moving forward, Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone will strengthen cooperation with Guizhou Civil Aviation Group to further expand international cargo routes based on market demand and plans.
They aim to extend the coverage of the cargo transportation network, opening cargo routes from Guiyang to countries such as Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Myanmar and providing more diversified and high-quality logistics services for enterprises in Guizhou and surrounding provinces and cities.
This will boost the prosperity and development of foreign trade in Guiyang, Guizhou, and western China.
