According to the Beijing Municipal Public Resource Trading Service Platform, the Chongqing-Guiyang High-speed Railway was recently approved for construction by the development and reform department of China State Railway Group Co and is now open for bidding.
Prior to the Chongqing-Guiyang High-speed Railway, the Chongqing-Guiyang Railway, with a total length of 345.4 kilometers, was constructed and opened to traffic in January 2018.
This railway is a national I-class double-track electrified express railway, designed with a speed of 200 km per hour. The fastest travel time between the two places is one hour and 58 minutes, with a second-class seat fare of 139 yuan.
According to China's high-speed rail network plan, a high-speed railway with a speed of 350 km per hour is planned between Chongqing and Guiyang.
After completion, the fastest travel time between the two places will be shortened to about one hour. This is of great significance for Guizhou's efforts to integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the railway will strengthen the interconnectedness of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the Central Guizhou Economic Zone, as well as promote high-quality economic and social development in the regions the railway passes through.
