Cultural extravaganza to mark China Tourism Day in Guiyang

May 19 marks the 14th China Tourism Day. According to the overall plan of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, from May 13 to 18, the cities of Chaozhou, Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Ningbo, Ordos, and Guiyang will carry out countdown activities with the themes of catering, accommodation, transportation, visiting, shopping, and entertainment, respectively.

From May 18 to 20, Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province will launch two main events – an ethnic parade carnival and an ethnic performance carnival, along with various other activities. In addition, the launch ceremony of the Guizhou sub-venue of the "5•19 China Tourism Day" will be held at Qingyan Ancient Town.

The ethnic parade carnival will take place on the morning of May 18. It will start at the intersection of Qianling West Road and Zhonghua North Road, parade along Beijing Road, Penshuichi, Dashizi, and Dusi Road, and finish at the central stage located in Zhucheng Square.

More than 2,700 people from Guizhou's various cities and prefectures, as well as 10 districts, county-level cities, and counties of Guiyang, will form 25 formations and march along the parade route with three thematic installations. Each formation will showcase the ethnic culture, history, fashion, and tourism characteristics of Guizhou.

The ethnic performance carnival will be held on May 18 at Zhucheng Square, featuring local artists and performing groups, which will present an audiovisual feast.

In addition to the main activities, the districts, county-level cities, and counties in Guiyang will hold a variety of activities at scenic spots, such as long table banquets on Qingyun Road, roadside concerts at Zhucheng Square and Wenchang Pavilion, and a Guizhou intangible cultural heritage creative exhibition and sales.
