Guiyang Baiyun International Kite Festival to open in May

The 2024 Guiyang Baiyun International Kite Festival, National Kite Invitation Tournament, and the 15th Guiyang Baiyun Kite Carnival will be held from May 17 to 20 in Baiyun district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Baiyun enjoys the title of "hometown of kite flying in West China", and it has a wide base of kite enthusiasts.

These activities aim to promote the district's "Cool Guiyang, Quality Baiyun" brand. They are also set to further develop the Guiyang Baiyun Kite Festival brand.

Professional kite-fliers from more than 10 countries and regions, as well as over 25 domestic kite teams, will participate in these events, totaling more than 140 participants.

The opening ceremony of these activities will be held on the morning of May 17 at the Yangguang Lawn of Quanhu Park in Baiyun district.

From May 17 to 19, the 2024 Guiyang Baiyun International Kite Festival and National Kite Invitation Tournament will be held at Yunshang Camp in Baiyun. The two events will feature 20 kite competition categories, including traditional kites, best performance kites, large and medium-sized dragon kites, and the most beautiful soft kites.

During this period, the Second Baiyun Night Glowing Kite Competition 2024, Guiyang Roadside Concert (Quanhu Lake), "Playing with the Wind" Sports Meeting, "Cool Guiyang, Soaring Baiyun" Kite Culture Exhibition, and a series of kite-themed carnival activities such as the paper kite hanfu garden party will also be held.
