Recent updates from the investment promotion bureau of Guiyang Big Data Sci-tech Innovation City in Southwest China's Guizhou province revealed a promising start to the year, with 14 projects signed in the first quarter.
Over half of these belong to the software and information services sector, totaling an investment of 385 million yuan.
The investing entities of these signed projects range from data center operators and energy-saving technology service providers, to those from trade platforms and smart education systems.
Among them, Guizhou Huashu Yuntong Technology Co, the maintenance service provider of the Tencent Qixinghu Data Center, plans to invest in the construction and renovation of data center infrastructure and its operational maintenance projects.
Guizhou Zhongrong Ruanke Technology Co aims to expand its investment and collaborate with more local universities in order to enhance its technical team. This will facilitate better employment opportunities for local graduates and attract more Guizhou talents in the field of big data and cloud computing technology.
Meanwhile, Beijing Foreasy Information Technology Co is dedicated to developing software and hardware for campus artificial intelligence digital systems, specifically targeting K-12 basic education. This enables students to utilize facial recognition for various campus applications, such as access, accommodation, learning, and payments when they cannot carry smart devices.
In the first quarter of this year, the innovation city received visits of over 90 companies, conducted 11 field trips, and had in-depth cooperation discussions with 36 companies.
Looking ahead, the innovation city will continue its efforts to cultivate three major industrial clusters: the digital economy, advanced equipment manufacturing, and the new energy and materials industries.
By nurturing these clusters and enhancing investment promotion strategies, the innovation city aims to excel in the new era of digital innovation.
