On Nov 24, the Guiyang-Jinsha-Gulin Expressway officially opened to traffic.
The expressway starts at the intersection of Fenglin Road and Yuntan North Road on the west side of Guiyang city and connects with Donglinsi Road.
It passes through Guanshanhu district, Baiyun district, Xiuwen county, Xifeng county and Jinsha county, before crossing the Chishui River and ending in Gulin county in Southwest China's Sichuan province, connecting with the Chengdu-Guiyang Expressway.
The main line of the Guiyang-Jinsha-Gulin Expressway is 165.28 kilometers in length, built according to the dual six-lane expressway construction standards, with a roadbed width of 33.5 meters and a designed speed of 100 km/hour.
The entire expressway features 109 bridges, 16 tunnels, 21 interchanges, nine connecting lines, 15 toll stations, and four service areas (Xiuwen South, Shuangshi, Jinsha South, and Shichang).
The travel time between Guiyang and Jinsha county has been reduced from 2 hours to just 1 hour, while the travel time to the end of the project has been shortened from 4 hours to 1.5 hours.
Meanwhile, this expressway has reduced the distance between Guiyang and Chengdu by 75 kilometers compared to traveling via the G4215 Chengdu-Zunyi Expressway or the G76 Xiamen-Chengdu Expressway, saving about 1 hour in travel time. Thus, it has become the most convenient expressway connecting the two provincial capitals of Guiyang and Chengdu.
The Guiyang-Jinsha-Gulin Expressway, numbered G7512, is a vital component of the national expressway network and the Guiyang-Chengdu Expressway. It's also an important project of the Guizhou Province Expressway Network Plan and the Guizhou Province New Era Expressway Construction Five-Year Implementation Plan.
Construction commenced in early 2020, and the main body of the highway was completed on June 30 of this year.
It has effectively optimized travel routes between Guiyang and Chengdu, enhancing the transportation capacity from Guiyang to the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and accelerating the development of the central Guizhou economic region, while also supporting regional industrialization and new urbanization.
