Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is set to build three new high-quality schools.
On Oct 16, a cooperation agreement for the establishment of a public primary school between Guiyang's Wudang district and the High School affiliated to Minzu University of China was signed in Beijing.
Following the collaboration in 2019 between Guiyang and the High School affiliated to Minzu University of China to establish a school in Wudang, this latest partnership aims to address the urgent need for quality education of near residents by opening a public primary school.
The school will be located in Wudang's Dongfeng town.
Oct 18, the Guian New Area Management Committee signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Shanghai Normal University. The Guian Experimental School affiliated to Shanghai Normal University (tentative name) will be built as a key educational project in the new area.
The campus will cover an area of 113.48 mu (7.57 hectares) and is expected to offer 36 classes for primary school and 36 classes for secondary school. It is expected to be completed and put into use in 2024.
The school, serving as a nine-year consistent public school, will be located in the southwest and northwest of Qing'an Avenue and Min'an Road in the Guiyang Big Data Sci-tech Innovation City.
On Oct 19, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Huaxi campus of the Guiyang Model School was held in Qingyan town, Huaxi district. The campus will cover an area of over 300 mu with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan.
It will include teaching buildings, laboratory buildings, libraries, music and art buildings, administrative buildings, sports fields, student dormitories, teacher apartments, training facilities for teachers, dining halls, and more.
The construction will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase having a planned construction area of around 135,200 square meters. It is designed to accommodate 5,000 fully boarding senior high school students under a rotating class system and is scheduled to be completed and put into use in June 2025.
