As the first national forest city in China, Guiyang has been increasing the green economy's share of regional GDP in recent years, promoting high-quality economic and social development.
According to data, the green economy accounted for 48 percent of regional GDP in 2022 and it is expected to reach 49 percent by the end of this year. According to the plan, this proportion is expected to exceed 50 percent by 2025.
Chen Ming, deputy director of the Guiyang Bureau of Ecology and Environment, said that an implementation plan for the calculation of the added value of the green economy in Guiyang has been formulated and issued.
To fully leverage major industrial projects and key application projects in the development of the green economy, Guiyang has been optimizing and updating its green economic project library.
There are currently about 200 key supported projects in the project library, with 168 key projects being implemented this year.
In the first half of this year, the output value of industries such as new energy vehicles, phosphorus chemical industry, electronic information manufacturing, advanced equipment manufacturing, organic foods, and medicine in the city achieved double-digit growth.
