The first Confucius Academy Civilization Forum was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Nov 11.
With the theme "Yangming neo-Confucianism and entrepreneurship", the forum was attended by more than 200 people, including authoritative scholars of Yangming culture, renowned economists, corporate executives, influential media representatives, and officials from Guiyang city and Guizhou province.
During the opening ceremony, Feng Guanbo, the winner of the 31st Plum Performance Award, and Guizhou Peking Opera Co, presented a performance segment titled "Enlightenment of Wang Yangming."
The opening ceremony also featured the release of the Yangming Yearbook and a book donation ceremony by the International Confucian Network.
The forum, which lasted for two days, consisted of an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, forums, master classes, and project visits.
It focused on economic trends from an international perspective and the innovative application of Yangming culture in economic theories, management philosophies, and corporate cultures. The forum aims to explore the modern value and application of Yangming culture.
In recent years, Guizhou has undertaken multiple projects, including the "Yangming culture transformation and application project." Following its recognition as a major cultural initiative of Guizhou, the Confucius Academy Civilization Forum has become a significant event, covering a wide range of topics, attracting high-level attendees, and incorporating both academic research and innovative practices.
In the future, the forum will be held annually, focusing on different themes each year. It aims to promote the application of Yangming culture, explore its modern value, and contribute to the innovative development of Yangming culture.
