The 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week “Jun Pin Xi Jiu Cup” Weiqi Invitational Tournament concluded in Guiyang on Nov 9, featuring 16 teams with 48 weiqi players from domestic and international backgrounds.
In conjunction with the competition, the organizing committee invited two world weiqi champions, Jiang Weijie and Tang Weixing, as guests to provide live commentary for each round and engage in coaching activities with the eight ASEAN representative teams.
Participants from eight ASEAN countries, including Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, were attracted to the tournament.
Representative teams from eight Chinese cities, namely Tianjin, Chongqing, Taiyuan, Quzhou, Hangzhou, Kaifeng, Kunming, and Guiyang, also actively participated.

After three days and six rounds of intense competition, the teams from Hangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing, and Kaifeng secured the top four positions among Chinese teams.
Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand teams claimed the top four positions among ASEAN teams.
