According to a news release conference about Guiyang City and Guian New Area's "Strengthening Provincial Capital" campaign held on Sept 7, since the conference on Guian's high-quality development, the new area has been focusing on becoming a hub for an inland open economy and accelerating its opening-up.

Guian has been working on broadening its channels for opening-up. It has integrated into the comprehensive transportation system of the province and country, striving to be connected to the main transportation routes between Guizhou and Guangdong and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

On July 1, the Guian High-speed Railway Station opened the cross-city and cross-line high-speed trains on the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, forming an integrated comprehensive transport system that combines aviation, high-speed rail, subways, urban rapid rail, and urban road networks.

This system puts Guian within two hours of the economic circle of Sichuan, Yunnan, Chongqing, and Chengdu, three hours of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area, and seven hours of the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and other areas.

Guian has also been cultivating opening-up market entities. It has attracted more than 40 foreign-trade-oriented companies. From January to July, international imports and exports reached 7.55 billion yuan, an increase of 31.1 percent.

In addition, Guian has been strengthening its open-up platform. It strives to develop the Guian Free Trade Zone by deepening cooperation with Kunming, Pingxiang, Yueyang, and other free trade zones, developing bonded processing, bonded logistics, and bonded services, and building an international trade transfer and consolidation hub for ASEAN, Central Asia, and Europe.

Lastly, Guian has been optimizing its opening-up environment. It has been promoting a "one form, one website, one window, one-time, and one-stop" approach for convenient government services. From January to July, Guian saw a net increase of 1,707 operating entities.
