Guizhou Airport Art Center opens for first exhibition

The Guizhou Airport Art Center in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, opened and held its first exhibition, titled "Yunshan Lu" (a record of clouds and mountains), in the departure hall of Terminal 2 at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport on Aug 29.

The Guizhou Airport Art Center is located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, covering an area of about 2,100 square meters. It is the first airport art center in Southwest China to have a professional fixed art exhibition area.

Over the course of two months, the Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group, in collaboration with the art museum of Guizhou Normal University and other institutions, planned and organized the exhibition.

Several renowned local artists from Guizhou were invited to exhibit their works. The exhibited artworks depict the unique natural characteristics of clouds and mountains in Guizhou, showcasing the visual artistry of the region's natural environment and cultural heritage.

The exhibition showcased works from 18 well-known artists, including paintings in various mediums such as oil, paper, and prints, installation art, interactive installations, and light installations, totaling 87 exhibits.

In addition, the Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group also designed and launched a series of jointly-branded cultural and creative products, which can be purchased on the left side of the exhibition hall. During the initial period of operation, the art center is open from 10 am to 5 pm daily and closed on Mondays.

The exhibition will last for four months, and subsequent exhibitions focusing on calligraphy, seal carving, and other art forms will be held in the near future.

These exhibitions will showcase the achievements of Guizhou and the national art community, allowing people to appreciate the ethnic charm, cultural treasures, and diverse experiences offered at the airport.
