A total of six districts, county-level cities and counties in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, made the list of China's top 100 districts and counties in terms of comprehensive tourism strength in 2023.

They are Yunyan district, Nanming district, Huaxi district, Kaiyang county, Qingzhen county-level city and Xiuwen county.

Of those, Yunyan, Nanming and Huaxi ranked 7th, 8th and 20th, respectively, on the list of China's top 100 districts in comprehensive tourism strength; and Kaiyang, Qingzhen and Xiuwen ranked 52nd, 62nd, and 64th on the county list.

Since 2019, Kaiyang, Qingzhen and Xiuwen have been selected among China's top 100 counties in terms of comprehensive tourism strength for five consecutive years, while Nanming, Yunyan and Huaxi have been on the district list for four straight years.

The lists were recently released by the national research groups on district and county tourism in collaboration with the Huaxia Baiqiang Tourism Consultation Center, and published by China Cultural Daily supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

They mainly evaluate the research and evaluation system based on six indicators, including the level of economic development, the role of government promotion, the driving function of the tourism industry, tourism development and environmental protection, tourism facilities and service functions, as well as tourism quality supervision and market regulation.
