Guiyang-Vientiane trade promotion meeting opens

The 2023 Guiyang-Vientiane Economic and Trade Exchange and Promotion Conference was held in Vientiane, capital of Laos, on June 6, by Guiyang Municipal People's Government.

Zhao Wenyu, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, addressed the event. It was attended by senior government officials of the two sides and representatives of nearly 100 Lao companies.

Guiyang's role as a pivotal transport hub is becoming increasingly significant, with its digital economy prospering and other industries flourishing. Its economic strength has been rising rapidly over the past decade.

Member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) are Guizhou's crucial export and import markets, and the China-Laos Railway is the province's essential channel to open to ASEAN countries. Based on these facts, the cooperation prospect between Guiyang and Vientiane is broad and promising.

The vice president of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) emphasized the importance of the Guiyang-Laos economic and trade exchanges during the meeting. These exchanges have played a crucial role in establishing a platform for strategic business partnerships between Guiyang and Laos. Furthermore, they have contributed to strengthening the connections and fostering collaborations among entrepreneurs from both regions.
