A skateboard deck with four wheels might seem like an ordinary object, but it has become the key to the development of autonomous driving technology for PIX Moving, an intelligent technology company based in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Different from traditional car manufacturing factories, there is no assembly line in the production workshop of PIX Moving's digital manufacturing factory. Instead, only large custom production equipment is used.
"Our main product is the automatic driving chassis, which can be customized in size to facilitate the demands of different occasions," said Cao Yuteng, chief operating officer of PIX Moving.
Cao explained that the PIX Moving skateboard deck adopts distributed electric driving technology with four-wheel hub motors. Through the development of torque distribution control strategies, the four wheels can be individually controlled.
Combined with four-wheel steering technology, the skateboard-style chassis is responsive and precisely controllable, allowing it to perform more complex movements.
Founded in 2017 and after nearly six years of development, this Guizhou-based company has made a name for itself internationally.
At present, PIX Moving has successfully created multiple products such as unmanned minibuses and cleaning vehicles. It has also entered the market of 29 countries, including those from Europe and North America.
It also has over 30 automatic driving industry applications, such as intelligent tree-planting robots for carbon neutrality and desert control, unmanned logistics vehicles; unmanned inspection vehicles; and unmanned retail vehicles, among others.
