Guiyang listed among China's top cities for business environment

According to the "2022 Business Environment Innovation Report of China's Cities" released by China Central Television on April 3, Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province was highly ranked for its innovative business environment.

The selection is based on market mechanism reforms, the optimization of public services, innovation in regulatory systems, improvement of the opening-up, the breaking down of regional barriers, and the improvement of investments and construction.

The report also covers the 10 key tasks and 101 specific reform measures, as outlined in the State Council's "opinions on carrying out pilot work for innovative business environments".

In 2022, Guiyang and Guian New Area made active contributions to modernize its industrial system, expand effective investments, and promote high-quality economic development. The city worked hard to find resources, seek projects, build bridges, and improve its environment.

Guiyang topped the list of in-place funds for new industries in the province due to its deepened efforts in improving its State-owned enterprise investments, key industry investments, industrial park investments, housing investments, funding investments, business investments, rural investments, and market-oriented investments.

Guiyang's in-place funds contributed 32.2 percent of the province's total funds, which is 6.4 percentage points higher than figures from the previous year.

In 2022, Guiyang contributed 86.09 billion yuan ($12.51 billion) to in-place industrial funds, accounting for 28.7 percent of the total provincial funds. This is 6.3 percentage points higher than that of the previous year.

Guiyang also intensified its efforts to attract investment, successfully bringing in a number of large and high-quality projects. The city's newly introduced project contract value ranked first in the province in 2022, accounting for 34.2 percent of the provincial total.

In terms of headquarters, Guiyang signed 94 regional headquarters projects worth 12.02 billion yuan, effectively promoting the development of the city's headquarters economy.
