A literature and art competition, which is part of this year's China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, was held at the Guizhou University of Finance and Economics in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Dec 14.

The competition received 119 works by more than 130 international students from 18 domestic and international universities. The students are from 25 countries such as Laos, Vietnam, India, Russia, Malaysia and Ghana.

The works were themed around the consciousness of a community with a shared future for mankind. Most pieces showcased the students' experiences in China, and their enthusiasm in learning Chinese culture. The competition included calligraphy, recitation, dances, singing and story-telling performances.

After review, 20 works were selected, including two first prizes, four second prizes, six third prizes and eight excellent prizes.

Zhu Keqian, deputy Party secretary of the university, said that through the performances, the competition can allow more people to learn about China, and promote culture exchanges between China and the world.
