Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has set up a special medical security group and opened a 24-hour consultation hotline to ensure that special groups receive timely treatment amid the new wave of COVID-19.

Professionals from the medical and administrative departments of major hospitals in Guiyang, clinical front-line medical personnel, and government agencies involved in medical care have answered questions from residents, used the resources of medical institutions in the city to solve the medical needs of residents, and smoothed the channels for emergency and critical care.

Since the hotline opened on Sept 17, it has received more than 1,200 consultation calls within 18 hours, including more than 400 consultations for critical care such as maternal childbirth, hemodialysis, tumors, mental illness, and sudden diseases, and solved 750 problems faced by the public.
