Guiyang is under static management.

Officials at a news conference on Wednesday said the latest COVID-19 outbreak in the city originated in a wholesale market and has mainly spread through vegetable stalls and fruit shops. The spread has been wide, they said.

As of 10 am on Thursday, Guiyang had reported 396 people positive for the coronavirus, 95 cases more than the day before, said He Chengjiang, deputy secretary-general of Guiyang, at the Thursday news conference.

COVID-19 antigen tests were carried out in non-key areas of the city on Wednesday, He said. Nearly 4.6 million people were tested, of which 295 came back positive. Nine were found positive in a recheck, He said.

Citywide testing will be carried out again on Thursday.
