To accommodate increased demand for rail travel during summer vacation, Guiyang North Railway Station in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently added some new high-speed trains.
Based on recent passenger flow, the station decided to launch 18 high-speed trains to Zunyi, Liupanshui, Kaiyang county, and Kaili, which are major popular tourist destinations in the province, between Aug 1 and 14, in response to the tourism season that will last until late August.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, fewer tourists have chosen to travel outside the province compared with previous years and more have chosen to travel within Guizhou. Fast and convenient high-speed rail transportation saves both time and accommodation expenses, said a staff member of Guiyang North Railway Station.
