Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was rated excellent in an evaluation of the construction effectiveness of the 2021 national information consumption demonstration cities, according to a recent announcement by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Guiyang started applying to become a national information consumption demonstration city in October 2020 and in December 2020 it achieved its goal.
Since being selected as a demonstration city, Guiyang has further consolidated basic support for information consumption related to networks, technology, computing power, and innovation, and released new functions for the development of information consumption.
The city has also improved the industrial supply capacity of data center clusters, electronic information manufacturing, software and information technology services to stimulate the development of information consumption.
In addition, the integration of a new generation of information technology with industrial applications, public services and other consumption fields has been guided, and new formats and new models of information consumption have been cultivated.
