During the first half of this year, the business revenue of Guiyang and Guian's software and information technology service industry – those with an annual business revenue of more than 5 million yuan ($739,290.76) – was 31.83 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 111.8 percent and accounting for 95 percent of the provincial total.
Since the beginning of this year, Guiyang and Guian have implemented the strategy of revitalizing the market through the digital economy and have strived to develop a core area of the digital economy development and innovation zone.
From January to May, 139 companies above a designated size in Guiyang and Guian achieved a total business revenue of 22.03 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 122.8 percent.
From January to June, the number of companies in Guiyang and Guian involved in big data increased by 317 to 5,502. Among them, 27 were recognized as municipal leading companies, 22 big data companies were included in Guizhou's company resource pool and were ready to be listed, and 30 software and information technology service companies were listed as provincial "specialized, refined, featured and innovative" small and medium-sized companies.
In the same period, Guiyang and Guian attracted 128 digital economy projects, signed 2.47 billion yuan in investment contracts, attracted eight major digital economy companies, and cultivated 60 new-generation information technology companies.
Guiyang and Guian's outgoing bandwidth increased by 5,000 gigabits per second and reached 33,000 Gbps during the first half of this year. The number of 5G base stations increased by 3,867 to a total of 18,721.
