Guiyang launches summer camping season

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, launched its summer camping season on July 5 in Guanshanhu district.

The season will run until September and feature various festivals for music, movies, family activities, outdoor sports, photography, creative cultural products and reading.

Currently, Guiyang has 31 camping sites in its districts, counties, county-level cities and the nearby Guian New Area.

In recent years, as the popularity of camping has taken off, Guiyang has become one of the top destinations for camping enthusiasts because of its natural environment, great weather and convenient transportation.

During this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Guiyang ranked fifth nationally among the most popular cities for camping.

To further update its public facilities and services, boost public awareness of its strong performance in environmental protection and head off potential issues, Guiyang has rolled out a key proposal and guidelines for tourists to protect the environment while camping.

Guiyang's tourism industry association will establish a sub-association for camping to improve guidance in the future, boost the development of Guiyang's camping industry and expand the range of products for the ever-popular pursuit.
