Guiyang 2021 investment goals surpassed

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, attracted 382 high-quality companies, nine Fortune Global 500 projects, and 510 industrial projects in 2021, surpassing its annual goal.

Several headquarters' projects such as BYD Auto's blade battery project, Zhongke Electric Co's lithium battery project, and Authenmole Biotech Inc's traditional Chinese medicine project were also implemented in the city.

Since 2021, Guiyang's municipal government officials had 19 investment attraction trips meeting up with 87 companies. Moreover, officials from district and county governments had 224 investment attraction trips outside of Guizhou meeting with around 700 companies.

These trips led to the signing of 103 investment projects.

Guiyang and Guian New Area are cooperating to establish a project management platform including the information management of industrial parks, associated industries, factories, lands, and major companies to prepare for the implementation of investment projects.

Through major provincial events such as the Big Data Expo, the Eco Forum Global, and the investment promotion meeting for Guizhou-Guangdong cooperation, Guiyang signed 179 investment projects.

Guiyang set up three investment promotion stations in Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Changsha, with 65 officials to promote businesses in these three cities. By the end of December last year, the station in Shenzhen signed 270 business cooperation agreements, that in Suzhou signed seven, and the station in Changsha signed six.

To optimize services for investment projects, Guiyang tracks the construction progress of major industrial projects every week and uses big data technology to manage the signing, construction, and operation of the projects.

Among the industrial projects introduced in 2021, 98.26 percent of which started construction and 80.5 percent of which were put into operation. Guiyang's investment projects accounted for 34.38 percent of the city's fixed-asset investment.
