Kaiyang holds Spring Festival meeting

A meeting of current and retired government officials of Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was held on Jan 24.

With the Spring Festival approaching, Wang Qiyun, Party secretary of Kaiyang county, extended holiday greetings and New Year wishes to everybody on behalf of the Kaiyang Party committee and Kaiyang county government.

Wang also thanked retired officials for their contributions to Kaiyang's government and expressed his hope that they provide more opinions and suggestions for Kaiyang's development in the future.

Vice-head Xia Shifei introduced the county's economic and social development in 2021 to attendees.

In 2021, Kaiyang county's GDP grew by 8.7 percent, while its industrial added value above designated size grew by 17.1 percent.

Meanwhile, the county's total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery was 7.50 billion yuan ($1.13 billion), growing 9.6 percent and ranking first in Guiyang.
