With the Spring Festival just around the corner, residents and Party members of Maodong village, Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, have been busy cutting, weighing, and packaging cured sausages every morning.
"Cured sausages – a special Spring Festival food – will then be transported and sold in Guiyang, Chongqing and Gansu," said Cheng Mengju, Party secretary of the village's Party branch.
"After the needs of villagers are met, these cured sausages can be sold as a special product outside the village. We even help them promote their sausages," Chen added.
The village also posts sales information and promotional videos on the public WeChat account of Yongyang sub-district (where the village is located).
To date, Maodong village has received more than 160,000 yuan ($25,120) in orders.
