The Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone recently stepped up its efforts at the airport, high-speed railway station, passenger station and other transport hubs – timing them to the arrival of Jan 17, the start of this year's 40-day Spring Festival travel rush which ends on Feb 25.

The zone – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – made its arrangements in order to do the best job possible, amid the normalized COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures during the period.

During the period, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport is expected to handle 1.6 million passengers and Guiyang East Railway Station is expected to transport 373,000 passengers.

The peak of passengers using the Guiyang Longdongbao Passenger Bus Station before the festival is expected to be Jan 30-31, with a daily flow of 7,000 people. The return peak is expected to be on Feb 6, with an estimated number of 10,000 people.

The transportation hubs will also increase entry and security channels in a timely manner according to passenger flows – strictly implementing prevention and control measures, such as temperature measurements and health code scanning and increasing the frequency of disinfection of facilities and equipment.
