The first China-ASEAN International Health-Care Industry Forum was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Dec 10.
Experts and scholars discussed topics that focused on the aging population and elderly care services – aiming to promote more healthcare cooperation between China and the ASEAN bloc of neighboring nations.
Participants agreed that eldercare services generally should be improved and targeted – with families and communities cooperating increasingly with each other – so as to significantly improve eldercare services for more senior citizens.

Guiyang has in recent years launched several plans to promote the development of the eldercare industry in the city, to enable its people to have a stronger sense of contentment, happiness and safety.
Taking the forum as an opportunity, it's expected that Guiyang will participate in international eldercare, education and culture exchanges – and become a pioneer in eldercare industry development in the province.
The forum also witnessed the launch of several eldercare practice and training bases in Guizhou.
