COFCO Coca-Cola's Guian factory to start operating in 2022

COFCO Coca-Cola's manufacturing center in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, completed construction on the main steel structure for its production and office area on Dec 8.

The factory, which is COFCO Coca-Cola's first in Guizhou, received an investment of 270 million yuan ($42.41 million) and covers an area of 156.5 mu (10.43 hectares). It started construction in July and is expected to begin operating in April next year.

Shen Peng, construction director of the factory, said that manufacturing equipment will be sent to the factory's production area by the end of the year, and will be tested at the beginning of 2022.

The factory will install two soda water production lines and one water production line, with an annual output volume of 170,000 metric tons, Shen said.

Since the agreement for the project was first signed, Guian has established one-on-one service teams to visit the construction site regularly, learn about the project's needs, and help solve any problems in a timely manner.

As construction progresses, Guian has started to prepare for employee accommodation and dining issues, and has established a real-time communication mechanism to help the factory start running as soon as possible.
