The Thai-China Middle School Principals Forum and Thai-Guizhou Middle School Special Courses Seminar were held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 27.
Education experts from China and Thailand attended the events both online and offline to discuss the internationalized development of basic education.
The events are part of the 2021 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, which is currently underway in the city of Guiyang and Guian New Area on Sept 23-29.
Wang Hui, a member of the leading Party members group of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, said at the forum that over the past five years, Guizhou and Thailand have held various personnel exchanges, and more than 600 Thai students have studied in Guizhou since 2008.
Wang said he hopes to further Guizhou's cooperation with Thailand in studying abroad, visits between teachers, school cooperation, and the introduction of Thai language teachers.
At the forum, several middle schools in Guizhou and Thailand signed cooperation agreements to complement each other's strengths and carry out education exchanges.
Some Guizhou universities and middle schools joined the Thailand-China Education Alliance at the forum.
Wei Wei, president of Guizhou Education University, said that the university has carried out activities for China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week for many years, and has improved its education quality through cooperation with ASEAN countries.
