The high school quarter-finals of Guizhou's regional finals of the "21st Century Cup" National Speaking Competition began on June 14 in Guiyang, Guizhou province.
About 200 participants qualified for the two-day event and they are divided into two groups, with the second group competition falling on June 19.
Students were given three minutes to deliver speeches and two minutes to answer questions on the topic of "CPC, I have something to say to you".
They talked about what they like about the CPC and what the Party means to them.
Specifically, they reviewed the challenges China has faced over the past 100 years and presented the remarkable achievements of modern China in relation to the economy, technology, poverty alleviation and the fight against COVID-19.
Participants used the contest as an opportunity to express their gratitude to the CPC in celebration of the Party's 100th anniversary.
