For the 2021 Big Data Expo – currently ongoing in the city of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – 288 students from Guizhou University of Commerce, Guiyang Vocational and Technical College and Guiyang Nursing Vocational College agreed to volunteer their services, to guarantee the successful convening of the event.

Since the expo was first held in 2015, more than 2,900 young people have been selected as volunteers to provide translations, help arrange meetings, offer guidance, consultations and other services. They have reportedly received overwhelmingly positive evaluations from the expo executive committee, guests and visitors.
The 2021 Big Data Expo is being held in Guiyang on May 26-28. The online version of the event started on May 20.
