CAS academician to attend 2021 Big Data Expo

According to the executive committee of the 2021 Big Data Expo, President Xue Qikun of the Southern University of Science and Technology will attend the event's opening ceremony and make a speech on quantum information science and technology. Xue is also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

His main areas of research are scanning tunneling microscopes, surface science, spintronics, the quantum state of topological insulators and high-temperature superconductivity.

Xue's research findings on the quantum Hall effect were praised by Nobel laureate Yang Zhenning as the first Noble Prize-level physics paper to come from a lab in China.

Since first held in 2015, the Big Data Expo has become an international platform for the sharing of big data development and achievements. This year's expo will be held both online and offline and will include one opening ceremony, one exhibition, one main release conference, competitions and a series of activities.
