The final review process for the leading scientific and technological achievement award, which is part of the 2021 Big Data Expo, was held in Beijing on April 25.

A total of 101 projects involved in cutting-edge technologies, emerging technologies, new projects, business models and technology-based pandemic prevention entered the final review stage.

The review was presided over by Wu Hequan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Internet Society of China's advisory committee, as well as 13 big data experts.

The final list of the winning projects will be released during the 2021 Big Data Expo, which will be held in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 26-28.

The prestigious award began accepting project submissions on Feb 4 and has held seven promotion and project collection events in Beijing, Yantai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Suzhou and Guiyang since March 1, attracting more than 200 enterprises to participate.

Famous companies such as Huawei, Tencent, Baidu, iFLY TEK and Xiaomi submitted their technological achievements, which involve big data, artificial intelligence solutions, cloud computing, blockchain, robotics, pandemic prevention and control, the internet of things and environmental protection.

The award has been recognized by the National Office for Science & Technology Awards as the only expo-level award and the only professional award themed around big data.
