A horticulture industrial park in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently opened to the public for trial operations, offering visitors a wide selection of flowers.

The industrial park started construction in April 2020 and functions as a production, sales and sightseeing area. The first stage of the industrial park has a total area of 38,000 square meters with hundreds of greenhouses and more than 30 flower shops.

The flower shops are involved in flower planting, bonsai planting, flower production and landscape design. One of the shop owners hails from East China's Jiangsu province and learnt about the industrial park last year, deciding to rent 1,000 sq m of greenhouse space.

According to the owner, he is optimistic about the market prospects of the horticulture industry in Guizhou, as there is less competition and fewer resellers in the province.

The industrial park also provides job opportunities for local villagers to increase their incomes. It will soon start the second phase of construction to become an industrial park that applies high technologies and is a scenic spot for tourists.
