Chen Yan: Guiyang should enhance big data development

Chen Yan, deputy of the National People's Congress (NPC) and mayor of Guiyang, participated in an interview on March 8 to discuss big data development in Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Chen said that in recent years, Guiyang and Guian have been focused on the construction of a national big data comprehensive pilot area to boost big data development.

So far, the big data industrial scale in Guiyang and Guian has been expanded and the areas' big data innovation ranked among the best in China. Big data has been applied in government affairs, the big data infrastructure has been upgraded, and Guiyang is well known as the "Data Valley of China."

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Guiyang and Guian will establish industry, application, standard, regulation and security systems for the big data industry to develop in the digital economy.

Guiyang and Guian will build three industrial clusters for data centers, electronic information manufacturing and software and information technology services. The clusters will be focused on project construction, major companies and the industrial ecosystem.

Guiyang and Guian will also accelerate the integration of big data and the real economy to upgrade industrial manufacturing, modern services and the sale of agricultural products.

With Guiyang and Guian's big data resources, the two areas will cooperate with East China to realize resource complementarity, in-depth cooperation and co-development.
