Luojiaqiao vegetable supply base, one of Guiyang's 25,000 mu (1,666.67 hectares) high-standard vegetable supply bases in Qingzhen, has employed 250,000 neighboring villagers and paid 30.58 million yuan ($4.73 million) of wages.

As spring approaches, the base's 1,200 mu of broccoli and cauliflower are launching on the market, and the 350 mu of morel mushrooms and 460 mu of green onions are ready to be harvested, which means the base needs employees.

About 260 to 300 people are currently working at the base each day, but the number will increase after the spring plowing starts. The agricultural facility has prepared seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and mulching films for the plowing process.

Guiyang's high-standard vegetable supply bases help solve the problem of imbalanced vegetable supply in different seasons. Vegetables such as cabbage and broccoli were in ample supply and experienced stable prices during this year's Spring Festival holiday.

The bases plan to plant vegetables and mushrooms during two seasons this year. This farm produce will launch on the market in June and achieve an estimated annual output of 100,000 metric tons.
