Guiyang Agricultural Products Logistics Park in Guiyang is the largest State-owned agricultural product trading market in Southwest China's Guizhou province. In 2020, 1.36 million metric tons of agricultural products were traded at the logistics park, with a total trading volume of 9.56 billion yuan ($1.48 billion).
The logistics park provides more consumption options for Guiyang's citizens and introduces high-quality agricultural products from Guizhou's mountainous area to provinces and regions across China.
The park is involved in trading, cold chain logistics, processing, storage and other supporting services to guarantee a steady supply of vegetables, fruits, meat, aquatic products, grains, oils and condiments in Guiyang.
So far, the agricultural park has about 3,000 merchants with an average daily trading volume of 2,300 tons of vegetables, 1,100 tons of fruits, 50 tons of mushrooms and 25 tons of meat.
The logistics park has a particular area for selling agricultural products from poverty-alleviation bases to help eliminate poverty in remote areas. Vendors there pay no rent or commission. Thanks to the special anti-poverty zone, farmers from impoverished areas have a place to sell their agricultural products.
The facility aims to promote the standardized and large-scale development of agricultural products to address the low added-value, weak brand influence and the slow sales of farm products.
Through developing industrial clusters for R&D, deep-processing, supply chain logistics and brand operation, the logistics park wishes to break the barrier between production and sales to balance supply and demand.
