Construction on Guiyang's international mail exchange office at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport is 60 percent complete compared with the end of 2019, according to data from the construction site released before the Spring Festival.

The mail exchange office was approved to be established in November 2019 and started operation at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport's temporary workplace in April 2020. The office mainly takes care of the assembly, sorting, customs clearance and supervision of international mail and packages.

By December 2020, the office had handled more than 599,000 pieces of international mail. It reduces the necessary time for customs clearance and slashes the transport time from five to two days.

The office is part of Guizhou's infrastructure project to join the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. It includes one international mail exchange office, one international express package center, one bonded logistics center, one international freight transport center and one customs supervision center.

The establishment of the international mail exchange office will help Guizhou deepen opening-up, enhance investment attraction, expand international trade, boost logistics and e-commerce development, and attract international tourists.
