Guiyang strives to strengthen real economy

In 2020, Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, focused on middle and high-end manufacturing to accelerate the new industrialization model and strengthen the real economy amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Last year, the added value of Guiyang's industries above designated size achieved a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent, which is 3.3 percentage points higher than the national level and 1.1 percentage points higher than the provincial level, ranking first in the province.

According to Guiyang's government work report, the added value increase of industries above a designated size should reach 8.5 percent in 2021. In the same year, the manufacturing industry's added value should be 20 percent of gross regional production.
