An eight-day shopping festival is ongoing in Yunyan district -- in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- which aims to provide international commodities for Guiyang citizens.

For the fall sales season, Guiyang has organized a series of sales activities, issued coupons and supported the efforts of businesses to stimulate consumer spending as the economy recovers from the influence of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

The festival is part of overall Guiyang's sales activities, which cover a wide range of industries and will last for an extended period.

In Huaxi district's grape planting area, the farmers pick grapes early in the morning every day and package them to distribute the crop across the country through the local logistics service.

Huaxi has coordinated major e-commerce companies to cooperate with industries and helped them to join online sales activities. So far this year, the district has supplied over 300 orders of seedless red grapes, accounting for 1,000 kilograms.

Huaxi's other products – including cherry tomatoes and blueberries -- are also becoming favored by customers nationally via online promotions.

Currently, Xiuwen county is also aiming for its kiwi fruit to go national with the help of e-commerce platforms such Taobao, JD.com and Suning.
